Terms of Service

Last updated: June 8, 2026

These terms govern your access to and use of Mergelint. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, installing our GitHub App, or otherwise using Mergelint (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Mergelint is a hosted platform that connects to your source repositories through a GitHub App and uses automated and AI-based analysis to post review comments on pull requests. Features, models, and limits may change over time as we improve the Service.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it as needed.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service.

4. GitHub Integration

The Service requires you to install and authorize a GitHub App against the repositories you choose. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to grant that access. You may revoke access at any time from your GitHub settings, which will disable reviews for the affected repositories.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, reverse engineer it, access it through unauthorized means, exceed documented rate limits, or use it to process content you do not have the right to share with us.

6. AI-Generated Content

Review comments produced by the Service are automated suggestions. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your specific context, and they are not professional, legal, or security advice. You remain solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and deciding whether to act on any output before merging or shipping code.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to your code and repository content. You grant us a limited license to access and process that content only as necessary to provide the Service. We retain all rights in the Service itself, including its software, models, and branding.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the Service or its output.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and uninstall the GitHub App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
